LIT Student’s Union is the representative body for the students of Limerick Institute of Technology Moylish, LITSU Tipperary (Thurles and Clonmel), Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD), Clare Street.

We represent student views at an institute wide-level, on various committees and bodies throughout the college and communicate them to management in LIT. So if you have any concerns while on campus please contact us:

We are a professional student counselling service staffed by psychologists, counsellors, and psychotherapists under the direction of Noreen Keane.  We provide a multi-campus service – Moylish, LSAD, LIT Tipperary both Thurles and Clonmel.

If you are interested in meeting with a counsellor in a confidential setting about whatever issues is causing you concern the Student Counselling Service offers: individual counselling and groups and workshops. We also provide frequent drop-in sessions.

Making an Appointment

You just need to register for Counselling by completing an intake form.

In LIT Moylish you do this by dropping-in to The Health Unit and making your booking at reception or phoning 061 293106.

In LSAD you register with Sean in main reception by completing an intake form.

In LIT Thurles and Clonmel you do this by contacting Anna Fitzgerald Receptionist for all Tipperary based services: 050428152 or email

Once registered for counselling you will be offered an assessment appointment, this usually takes 30 minutes after which you will be assigned to a counsellor. You can find a list of contacts here.

Please note that during our busiest times we operate a waiting list so be patient, if you are in crisis, please inform us and you will be given an emergency appointment.

To provide a confidential and caring Health Service through Health Promotion and Healthy Lifestyle Awareness and to respond to the needs and concerns of our students.

Student Health at LIT consists of a Nurses and Doctors Service.

LIT has two full-time Chaplains (based at Limerick and Thurles) whose services are available to students of all religious denominations and of none. The Chaplaincy is available to help any member of LIT and has four main areas of support: Care, Community, Spirituality and other general duties.
