Would you share your mental health story online?

The UCD School of Psychology Youth Mental Health lab, in collaboration with PleaseTalk are hosting a student-focused, panel discussion on UCD campus to promote conversations about mental health. The focus of the panel discussion will be ‘Would you share your mental health story online?’

The panel discussion takes place in E14 Newman Building, Belfield Campus, 1-2pm on Thursday 12th of April , with lunch served from 12.30pm onwards!

Panel discussants will include Rosemary MacCabe , Blogger & Journalist; Dr. Colman Noctor , Psychotherapist and Dr. Cliodhna O Connor, Assistant Professor in UCD School of Psychology.

The event will include guest speakers Rosemary MacCabe, Colman Noctor and Dr Cliódhna O’Connor.

Rosemary MacCabe, @RosemaryMacCabe on social media, is a blogger, journalist and TV panellist based in Dublin. With almost 30,000 followers on Twitter, Rosemary regularly discusses her experiences with mental health. http://rosemarymaccabe.com

Colman Noctor is a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytical Psychotherapist. Colman has a keen interest in the effects of media on child development and mental health and frequently contributes to national media on this topic. http://colmannoctor.com/

Dr. Cliódhna O’Connor is a social psychologist and Assistant Professor in the UCD School of Psychology. Her research explores how ideas about mental illness disseminate through society and affect people’s self-concepts, social identities, attitudes and behaviour. She is currently completing a Marie Skłodowska-Curie research fellowship on the experience of diagnosis in youth mental healthcare.
